After enduring four years of socialist governance and the ruinous domestic and foreign policy initiatives that have subverted our Constitution, inhibited economic growth and made the world a more dangerous place, America desperately needs a change in direction and leadership. Consequently, the American Patriot Council has decided to endorse Mitt Romney for President and Paul Ryan for Vice President. The endorsement of the Romney-Ryan ticket is based on the following reasons:

– Mr. Romney has an extensive and successful background in business that has prepared him to tackle the massive economic challenges facing our country today. He has also been an unapologetic proponent and defender of our free market system and the economic freedom of the individual and a vocal critic of President Obama’s socialistic ideology and policies.

– Mr. Romney’s pro-business attitude and policies will encourage businesses and investors to inject the trillions of dollars currently sitting on the sidelines into our economy to produce growth and employment.

– Mr. Romney will halt the current administration’s insatiable appetite for more government, more spending and more taxes.

– Mr. Romney will end President Obama’s weak, unprincipled and reactive foreign policy that has emboldened terrorists and hostile regimes and made the world a much more dangerous place for America and its allies.

– Mr. Romney will repeal ObamaCare and most notably its odious individual mandate.

– Paul Ryan has shown the political courage to address the insolvency of our nation’s entitlement programs and the practical knowledge to propose solutions to those problems instead of engaging in the demagoguery, fear-mongering and inaction of his Democratic opponents who are content with the status quo.

– Mr. Romney will end Mr. Obama’s war on coal and oil and encourage the development of domestic energy sources and the security that comes with it.

– As a Republican governor of Massachusetts working with a Democrat-controlled legislature, Mr. Romney has proven that, unlike the president, he is willing and able to reach across the political aisle to get the business of government done.

– Mr. Romney has a positive, Reaganesque faith in America, her people and the things that have made America the freest, most prosperous and powerful nation on earth. On the other hand, Mr. Obama, true to his nihilistic ideology and perspective, wants to fundamentally transform America. The results have been decline and malaise.
In the negative, the APC is not endorsing Mr. Obama for the following reasons:

– President Obama is a nihilistic socialist whose goal, in his own words, is dedicated to “fundamentally transforming the United States of America”. When he speaks of “Change” and ” a new vision of America in which prosperity is shared”, he is speaking of Socialism.

– Mr. Obama’s socialistic ideology and policies have stymied economic growth and killed the confidence of business owners and investors, producing one of the weakest recoveries from a recession in American history. Since he took office, GDP growth has been anemic, unemployment has hovered around 8%, middle-class household incomes are down $4000, the government has accumulated a record $5 trillion in additional debt, America’s credit has been downgraded and Democrats have added another multi-trillion dollar entitlement program (ObamaCare) on top of the programs (ex. Social Security and Medicare/Medicaid) that are already going insolvent.

– Mr. Obama has shown a wanton disregard for the Constitution and the rule of law, that has eroded the freedom of the individual and the constraints our nation’s Founders placed on government and authoritarian statists such as Mr. Obama.

– Mr. Obama’s weak and unprincipled foreign policy has been an unmitigated disaster for America and is allies abroad. The president’s foolish eagerness to appease our nation’s enemies has emboldened terrorists and hostile authoritarian regimes while abandoning the pro-democracy movements that oppose them.

– The failure of the Obama Administration to ensure the security of our diplomatic personnel in Benghazi, Libya, which contributed to the deaths of Ambassador Christopher Stevens and three other Americans, followed by the false and misleading narrative that was disseminated to the American people in an effort to cover up the administration’s gross negligence and incompetence, are proof that Mr. Obama is unworthy to serve as Commander in Chief.

– Mr. Obama’s war on coal and oil have made domestic energy sources increasingly unavailable to the American people and driven up the price of gas, heating oil, propane and electricity. This rise in prices is the primary reason why the disposable income of middle-class American households is $4000 lower than it was when the president took office.

– Mr. Obama’s hyper-partisanship and unwillingness to reach across the political aisle to conduct the nation’s business have imposed legislative and regulatory excesses on the American people and produced acrimony and gridlock in Washington, DC.

– Mr. Obama has surrounded himself with incompetent ideologues and politicians who have failed our country at every turn.

– The story of President Obama and his administration has been one of misplaced priorities. While the American people endured the economic hardships of the Great Recession, President Obama chose to ignore their concerns about jobs and the economy and dedicated himself to nationalizing our nation’s healthcare system. While the president should have been attending to the security of our diplomatic personnel in Libya – a country he helped turn into an anarchic, terrorist-infested failed state – he attended campaign rallies, fundraisers and TV talk shows instead.

– Mr. Obama’s nihilistic socialist ideology and agenda have produced a failed era of decline and malaise that have not been seen since the days of the Carter Administration. America can never achieve her full potential, at home and abroad, under the administration of Barack Obama, and the president’s track record is proof.
