Where We Are and Where We Go

WHERE WE ARE AND WHERE WE GO

by Robert Williams

Over that past 60 years since WWII and F.D.R. America has drifted at an ever accelerating pace into a disastrous chasm of wrong attitudes in too big a segment of the public, and increasingly unrealistic government policies.  The result is a greater and greater dependency on government largess at the cost of increasing corruption in unions and bureaucracies and higher taxes and job-killing regulations.  All this was barely sustainable while it was happening, but is no longer sustainable because of enormous deficits and national debt in the face of rapidly increasing world competition.

The 2008 election was pretty much decided by mid-September when fear blossomed because Lehman brothers failed and the “war against terrorism” was grinding on indefinitely because accommodation was our goal instead of victory.  Bush became unpopular as a result, and just about any Democrat could have won if Obama had not charmed the unhappy away from his contenders.  No one knew much about him but all he essentially had to do is holler “Change’ and a whole lot of folks cried “Yeah!”

Three years later it became obvious to the not-blind what Obama meant by the “change” he previously explained in only glowing generalities.  He turned out to be a narcissist and egomaniac that sees himself as the rightful ruler of the world,  above it all, orchestrating the various agendas of other countries.  He is surrounded by far-far-left academicians. None including himself have ever run so much as a chicken farm, let alone a vast world supported by businesses.  Unfortunately he also has enormous backing from the far-left billionaires coupled with genuine political skills and he can be intellectual and even charming.  This makes him both electable and likable to the unwary. The nation needs to pay attention to what he does, not what he says.  He is committed to being left of the far-left “progressives” — which means close to Marxist.

What he does shows he has a ruthless hunger for power.  Power to change everything, including destroying capitalism and free enterprise  (Hello Soviet Russia). He has to be secretive, devious, and misleading because he has to accomplish his major goals before the public truly wakes up. These goals include severe income redistribution and punishment for the achievers of our nation and the world. He has already accomplished his first main goal of bureaucratic government control of health care at taxpayer expense and part of his other main goals for control of Energy and Education.  His plan is to finance the enormous cost of universal free health care by rationing services or increasing the already impossible public debt  (Hello Canada).  He wants to entice the public into paying for “FREE” college education and pay for it in the same insane manner  (Hello Cuba). The “Cap and Trade” will add costs and stifle growth.  To do all this he has to encourage more and more regulation. It is already nearly impossible for Americans to compete on the world market and more over-regulation will just seal that coffin.

WHAT WE CAN DO

In a nutshell, we the people have to wake up before it is too late.  It is really that simple.  Once awake we must demand a return to our founding principles of personal responsibility and frugal self-sufficiency so that both spending and taxes can be lowered to result in much smaller government and a return to the kind of individual liberty and entrepreneurship we once had that was the envy of the world.

“This country, with its institutions, belongs to the people who inhabit it. Whenever they shall grow weary of the existing government, they can exercise their Constitutional right of amending it or their revolutionary right to dismember it or overthrow it.” – Abraham Lincoln.

To all who still value liberty and justice over handouts,  do yourself and those you care about a favor. Get involved,  and no matter what the odds or how long it takes, FIGHT FOR THE PRINCIPLES YOU BELIEVE IN or the world will end not with a bang but a whimper.
